Shattered (Friday Night Poetry Corner #237)

Picture above is calledBeyond Tears by Vivian Kasey

Good evening everyone and welcome to another poetry corner.

First, give respects to the honorable Justice Ginsberg you have recently passed away.

Now, this poem I am about the feature is written by a fantastic writer called Seranish Ryen and the name of this work is “Shattered.” This poem can definitely speak with you if you are dealing with the loss of a loved one. In my case, it brought back feelings that were still there of a person who left this realm recently. It isn’t an easy way to look at this poem, it’s needed, it’s well written and it is painful all at once. Please visit this poet’s page and read more of their works.

Seranish

Someone hit the lights now, the night is getting dark
turn on the sun, the world inside out, the mare has left a mark.
Bad dreams keep on spooling, even when I wake,
it’s more unpleasant than fooling, and all just bad mistakes.
Help, they haunt me, disappointments and flubs,
nothing to do but struggle, ’cause there’s no way I can run.
Someone, hit the dawn rise, the shadows getting long,
someone, please, help me… I am just not that strong.
Someone, anyone out there? Someone, grab my hand!
My time is slipping away now, like broken hourglass sand.
