The broken man listens to Caruso all night long,
He feels every lyric of the song,
With every line his heart pulls further apart,
But at the end he just goes back to the start,
He wants to feel the searing pain,
Thats why he listens again and again,
He’s grieving at the love he’s lost,
When he entered the other girls bed he had no idea of the cost,
And now as he sits alone,
After all the mourners shook his hand and have gone,
He listens to the song again,
And feels the familiar stab of pain,
But its only a quarter of the hurt she felt,
Before she took her final breath and from the pianoforte she leapt,
Leaving him a note that read,
“I love you very much,
Very, very much, you know,
Its become a chain,
That melts the blood inside the vein, Thats why…
