Yeah, that’s right, I’m at it again–Gotta new thing I wanna try–you guys know I do this from time to time; sometimes these new ‘things’ work, and sometimes they don’t. So what am I up to now? Well, the past couple weeks, I’ve been networking, talking to, and working with some of my ‘connections’ on LinkedIn about Blog-Hosting to help promote one another. I’m entitling it. . .THE WRITER’S LOUNGE!

The idea/concept is simple. . .I feature them and their work on my blog, and they do the same for me. I’ve heard of people doing this, but personally, I’ve never tried it before, and I’m still working out some details. Nonetheless, I’ve found that the best way for me to explore something ‘new’ or ‘different’, is to simple jump in! So that’s what I’m doing–jumping in!

Many of the people I’ve been communicating with are fairly new and up-and-coming writers, authors, poets, editors, and bloggers looking to promote themselves and their work, such as myself. I’ve been thinking the easiest way to do this is with a Q and A style format, but we’ll see how things go. Hopefully, if this works out well, I can start doing the same thing with blogs. If any of you guys (my fellow WP bloggers), have any experience with this, please feel free to leave any suggestions, advice, and tips! Thanks again for reading! You’re all appreciated!

  1. Oh gosh, my mind slips me as to exactly which blog it was, but there is one to which I subscribe that was trying to work on the whole cross-promotion with other blogs by doing a contest. Once he reached a certain amount of followers, he asked for a re-blog and a comment, and then all of the commenters were entered in a chance to win an interview on his blog in the hopes that it would generate more traffic for both of them. I think he offered another prize of featuring the winner’s blog on his site as a “Friend of the Month” or something like that. There are so many great ideas floating around out there if you’re looking to expand your viewership (readership? not sure which one it is for a blog. Lol. ) and the possibilities are endless! Me personally, I just started blogging because I canceled my Facebook account and was getting itchy from the lack of social media interaction. At least here, I can control what I see, what I say, and who gets to post what on my page without anyone getting hurt feelings and calling me out in from the entire world. Ha! Anyway, I wish you the best of luck as you grow your website and get your work out into the public eye!
